Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. James 2:19

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Prov 3:5

Repentance is turning from sin (Not just trying harder or turning over a new leaf). Repent from the heart.

Except ye repent, ye shall all... perish. Luke 13:3

Suppose we took a poll. Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God? The majority would answer ‘yes’. But, the majority will not go to heaven.

Wide is the gate... that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: ...narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matt 7:13-14

We must, at some point, make a conscience decision to place our trust in Christ alone. As we are born at some point in time physically, we are also at some point in time born spiritually.

Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Marvel not that I (Jesus) said unto thee, Ye must be born again. John 3:3-7

After the spiritual new birth:

We still sin. But, our soul is grieved by sin. Our inner desire is to serve God and not worldly things.

If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature (new creation): old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Cor 5:17

Commentary - Slide 1

Millions of people will hear the voice of God. Then respond. But, respond incorrectly. Simply by responding, in some form, the devil will deceive them into believing that they handled it God’s way. They may have even had the emotional feeling of doing the right thing. Yet, they never repented from sin and made Jesus their Lord (master). That in turn just drives them farther from the truth. After all, they now have an experience to base their faith on. In reality they received an inoculation towards getting saved. Thus, weakening the voice of God the next time he speaks to them.

Commentary - Slide 2

Many people unknowingly substitute repentance with turning over a new leaf, trying harder not to sin or New Year’s resolutions. That is just a detour not repentance.

In the original text, many means most and few means a puny amount. According to that verse most of the people will enter into eternal destruction while only a puny few will enter into eternal life.

Commentary - Slide 3

There comes a point, in our life, when we spiritually hear the voice of God. (Rev 3:20) “Behold, I (Jesus) stand at the door (hearts door), and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him...” At that point, the mind makes a conscience decision to put our complete trust in Christ alone or reject him.

As stated earlier, we are born separated from God and spiritually dead. Born again means to be spiritually born or regenerated by the spirit of God. This new birth takes place when we repent and accept Jesus Christ alone as Lord and Saviour. We then become spiritually alive by the spirit of God.
